The #USAID funded project provides platform for dialogue between state, Traditional Rulers, Civil Society Organisations and Citizens to decide and prioritize the different needs of various wards for an inclusive budget that reflects the aspiration of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

Some of the priorities of these communities are
✓Grading of Community Roads for Accessibility and Easy Navigation
✓Renovation of Public Primary Schools.
✓Provision of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in across various wards.
✓Provision of Primary Healthcare Centres with needed medical infrastructures.
✓Provision of Skill Acquisition Centers.
✓Construction market for some wards and renovation of old markets.
✓Provision of Street Light for newly constructed roads.

These needs were summed into five key priorities needs that becomes a community demand charter to be reflected on the 2023 Budget.

The Legislative Leads of Obot Akara and Ikono Local Government Area made presentations on behalf of their Communities and had positive commitment from members of the Executive.

In line with our core objectives of driving socioeconomic transformation through policy and governance reforms, social services and economic research and development, we intend to strengthen partnership with these key stakeholders towards achieving an inclusive budget that reflects the aspiration of the common man.
